FRIWO Power Supply
FOX18-XM

The FRIWO FOX18-XM power supply offers an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution with a high efficiency of up to 81.3% and a low no-load power consumption of less than 90 mW.

It meets the requirements of DoE efficiency level VI and is characterized by an extremely low leakage current of ≤10 µA, making it particularly suitable for safety-critical applications, such as in the medical field.

The double housing safety, featuring a snap-fit and additionally welded enclosure, ensures high mechanical stability and protection. In addition, the power supply is designed in compliance with IEC 60601-1.

FRIWO FOX30-C Charger

The FRIWO FOX30-C charger is designed for 1 to 7 Li-ion cells and provides reliable, safe charging technology. It is permanently short-circuit proof and features integrated protection functions such as overload and overvoltage protection.

With a leakage current of ≤ 100 µA and protection class 2× MOPP, it meets stringent electrical safety requirements, particularly in medical environments.

In addition, the charger complies with the relevant safety standards IEC 60335-1, IEC 60335-2-2, IEC 60601-1 and UL 1310.

Customized Ventricular Assist Device

Challenge:
A leading medical technology manufacturer wanted to switch its ventricular assist system from mains to battery operation. The solution had to meet the highest safety requirements, be sterilizable and guarantee a reliable power supply for sensitive medical applications.

FRIWO’s Solution:
We developed a customised battery module with IP67 protection class, SMBUS communication and dual safety circuit board. The housing complies with ISO 10993-5 for biocompatibility. In addition, a charging station with four separate charging units and LED status display was developed to ensure a safe and efficient energy supply. The entire solution fulfils all relevant medical approvals such as UN 38.3, EN62133 and EN60601-1-2.

Challenge:
A medical technology manufacturer needed a reliable battery solution to power its mobile vehicle with an integrated C-arm X-ray system. The battery had to deliver high currents, be safe to use in a medical environment and communicate seamlessly with the application.

FRIWO’s Solution:
FRIWO developed an intelligent battery system based on robust LiFePO4 technology. With up to 60 A peak current, CAN-BUS communication and a second safety board, the battery guarantees maximum safety and performance. The robust metal housing reliably protects the battery, while an LED status display in the charger makes the operating status transparent.
